Amelie arrived to Chile from Peru with her older brother Eduardo & younger brother Luis, apparently by ship from Peru to Chile, with possibly a grandmother. She was raised in Chile, possibly by that grandmother, this is according to information from her daughter Hilda, who gave this information to me in person. Amelie went to boarding school in Santiago called "La Sagrada Familia". She married at age 24. Amelie played the piano and would be asked by her husband Carlos to play to him each night. They had 5 children together: Armando Marian Caillaux (Died 00/00/1903) Aidita Marian Caillaux (00/00/1910 - 00/00/1911) Marta Marian Caillaux (Born 00/00/1912) Alicia Marian Caillaux (Born 00/00/1914) Hilda Marian Caillaux (Born 29/03/1919). After her husband Carlos died in 1925, Amelie and her children lived in Santiago yet in 1932 they went to live in Talca for 2 years (at that time her income was derived from apartments her husband Carlos had left her in Santiago). She later returned to Santiago and Amelie bought the patisserie "Pasteleria Paris" in Brasil St in Santiago from her brother Eduardo Caillaux Chavaneix in 1934. Amelie had a gentle nature, patient, humane and kind, she suffered as a consequence of her husband death as her children were very young. She never re-married, and dedicated her life to her children. Amelie died aged 64, she was living with her daughter Hilda at the time, towards the final years of her her life she had dementia and died of heart failure. She was as her picture shows very beautiful.
