How this site came about......

How to write an introduction with out loosing the essence of how it all transpired can be difficult in itself, yet I will attempt to portray as best as possible and briefly, if I can, so as not to loose the readers attention, on how this site came to be born......
Approximately a year and a half ago, curiosity of a known famous ancestor of mine, Joseph Caillaux led me on an internet hunt, which in turn led me to a website named 'Find a Grave'. Here I found Joseph Marie Auguste Caillaux and in honour to his life, and delighted in the discovery, I left a note with a flower at his vitual tomb.....then in......
Mid October 2004, I received an email from the USA from a J. Caillaux, whom also had visited the virtual grave site, and on finding my note, made the brave action of responding to me with a note via email, he said ?we may be related, and could I please write back and say how it could be so?. He explained that his father was first cousins with Joseph Marie Auguste Caillaux. He himself had been born in Peru and now resided in USA California.
You can imagine my delight in receiving such a correspondence. I now too wished to know. My understanding was that Joseph Marie Auguste Caillaux was my great great uncle, the brother of my great grandfather Eduardo Caillaux Chavaniex. It is revealed furthur down, that this was not quite the case. Proceeding this email, phone calls were made to my mum, who had been collating information over the years on our Caillaux family line. And so started the unraveling of how J. Caillaux now in California and us here in Australia, whom had been born in Chile, would be related, and how close was the family connection?
Yes!!!!....my grandfather it turned out had spoken of relatives in Peru, cousins of his. Now to unravel the deeper connection....
More emails back & forth, more phone calls to my mum.....and it turns out that our brave inquisitive relative in California is 1st cousins with my late grandfather Rolando Alberto Caillaux the 1st.
J. Caillaux?s father, Carlos Caillaux Chavaneix and my grandfathers father Eduardo Caillaux Chavaneix, were brothers, a family of 5 siblings, 4 sons, Eduardo, Gustav, Luis, Carlos and 1 daughter, Amelie, of Armand Caillaux & Margarite Chavaneix. Making J. Caillaux?s great grandfather, my great, great great grandfather. The name of whom we are in the process of discovering.
Armand Caillaux had one brother, that has been revealed to us so far, named Eugene Alexandre Caillaux, who had two sons that we know of at this time, one of them being our famous ancestor Joseph Marie Auguste Caillaux, hence 1st cousin of J. Caillaux?s father Carlos, and therefore also 1st cousins with my great grandfather Eduardo Caillaux.
Bear with me, all this will seem clearer, and more connections will be revealed in due course and in the genealogy tree. Which is now been set up.
From a simple note, left sometime ago, to an email reply to that note, has led to the recovery & discovery that we are more closely related than was imaginable. How exciting and wonderful!!
On speaking of this lucky fortune with a friend, who hosts and builds websites, it was suggested that I build a Caillaux family site and capture it, for all Caillaux?s around the globe and interested parties, to view, visit and be involved, if they wished, in it?s evolution. A reference point for all those interested in genealogy, photos, and history of this particular Caillaux family line. A place to come and get to know and chat with other family members or interested parties, without the restriction of where ones' location has placed one on earth.
And the rest as they says is history, or in this case...history in the making!
To build a site from an idea and initiate it?s conception, takes effort, time, information and the most important ingredient, constant support, so with this in mind, I wish to thank the following, in it?s creation, help and for supporting me & this site to come to life:
Natalie & Rolando (the 2nd) Caillaux - My most precious, Mum & Dad, for their envolvment, gathered and tracking of further information, unflagging support and putting up with phone call after phone call to pick your brains.
Pepe (J.Caillaux) & wife Trudy Caillaux - for their brave origination of contact via email from California, which started the ball rolling for this site to begin. And for all the information & wonderful photos you have sent back to us here in Australia.
Jeanette & Rolando (the 3rd) Caillaux - My lovely sister and brother, for their interest, support and imput. We look forward to getting up some of the great photos & videos you bought back from Chile, Rolo of the Caillaux ancestors, cousins, and nephews who will carry on the Caillaux family line, over there.
Vivienne Mossert Caillaux - My lovely 1st cousin in Chile, who jumped at the idea and signed on, and is helping with the gathering of dates and information.
Blast - whom without, this site would never have eventuated. Your attention & time in helping me bring this to life, securing the domain name, hosting this site via your ?onlinewebpresence? business and coaching me on it?s creation direction, and finding the right tools for this site to work effectively. Administrator, guide and technical know-how in constantly showing me in the administrators forum, the best way of going about designing and organising this site, not to mention adding extentions, to make this site user friendly and fun for all.
And last but by no means least....
All you Caillaux?s & interested parties who may be brave enough to involve yourselves in this sites evolution and growth.
I thank you all deeply.....Enjoy!
Lizzy Caillaux
