Hi all...the count down is on?. I have 6 weeks to go before I step on the plane.
Latin America?the land known for passionate music, dance, it's poetic language, Patagonia and historical ancient civilisations and tales of activists and political unrest?. yet the best part will be what is there in the present, and that includes my opportunity of?MEETING AND SEEING YOU ALL!
As some of you visit our site and some of you don?t get the chance to, I will be also......
emailing all Caillaux?s I am in contact with in Chile, Peru, Argentina, USA and Uruguay, privately or in a group email, advising you all of my travel schedule, dates etc in which we will meet or get the opportunity to meet up.
I am so excited about this trip that I can hardly sleep at night!!! I am doing some reading to learn more about my homeland and other parts of Latin America. I have even taken up Salsa lessons, before I head there, and am spending a few hours on the net, doing research and talking to friends. I was itching to take up some tango lessons while I am in San Telmo Argentina, and so I have already booked those and then time permitting; I will try to learn the Chilean Cueca and learn to weave, while I am in Chile too.
My plans have changed slightly; I will now be travelling over on my own. Mum had an accident, she is OK and on the mend, yet due to the fact she has damaged her ankle, which is now in plaster after surgery for 4-6 weeks, it is now estimated it may take 6 months for her to have proper use of her foot again. So the trip for her and Dad is on hold for now.
This of course means that I have cancelled the Caillaux Conference; I don?t think it?s appropriate to have it without my dad and mum being there, it just would not be the same?. I still intend to show as many Caillaux?s while I?m over there, what we have all accomplished so far on caillaux.com and on our Family Genealogy Tree. I will be taking a digital camera, so get ready for big smiles and interrogations from me, for the family tree notes?of course!
I am now also, going over there for longer than I originally planned and will now get to visit more than just Chile, I will also get to see Argentina, Uruguay and Peru.
I am so looking forward to going over and seeing some of you again and getting to meet all the rest of you Caillaux's, as well as experiencing all that will be new to me, both Culturally and Geographically.
It's going to be FANTASTIC!! Hasta muy pronto familia y amigos!!!!! See you all real soon!!!
